StopHarbor

Home / Use cases

Each technician starts from their own driveway.

When techs take vans home, the first and last drive of the day matter as much as the stops between. StopHarbor plans each route from that person's own start address and start time.

The hidden drive

If every route is planned from the shop but three of four technicians start at home, the plan is wrong before the day begins. A tech who lives on the south side gets assigned north-side calls, then drives forty minutes to the first one. Across a month that is a lot of paid drive time nobody planned.

How it works

  • Open a worker's Start, finish and hours and enter their home address as Starts from.
  • Set where they finish: home again, the shop for a parts pickup, or the last stop.
  • Set Leaves at when one tech starts at 7:00 and another at 9:00.
  • Optimize. Stops near each person's home go to that person when it saves time overall.

Privacy of home addresses

Home addresses are stored in your workspace like any other plan data and are visible to workspace members who can open the plan. Private crew links show each worker only their own route. If a tech prefers not to share their exact address, use a nearby landmark or intersection as their start.

Mixing shop and home starts

Workers without a start address use the plan's starting address, usually the shop. You can mix both in one plan, which is common when apprentices ride from the shop and senior techs drive from home.

Questions

Can each worker have a different start and finish?

Yes. Every worker can have their own start address, finish address and departure time.

Does the route include the drive home?

When a finish address is set, the last leg is included in miles and time. Otherwise the route ends at the last stop unless Return to start is on.

Is this on Solo?

Solo plans for one worker, who can start from home. Multiple workers with different starts need Team.
