How many visits fit in your team's day?

Leave room for driving, breaks and the unexpected before you promise another appointment. This free worksheet stays in your browser and makes no map requests.

The calculation

Available service minutes = shift hours × 60 − breaks − driving − buffer. Divide by minutes per visit and round down for each worker, then multiply by workers. Three workers on eight-hour shifts with 30 minutes of breaks, 90 minutes driving, a 30-minute buffer and 30-minute visits can plan for 33 visits: 11 each.

Use a realistic driving allowance

Include the yard departure, travel between customers and the final return. Appointment windows, geography, specialist skills and uneven visit lengths can reduce this upper planning estimate. Route estimates use typical traffic. Check changing conditions before departure.

Prepare tomorrow's list

Start below the estimate until you have measured visit lengths. Put longer jobs and promised arrival windows into the spreadsheet, then calculate and review unassigned stops.
