Route the whole team at once, not one driver at a time.
Planning one route is easy. Planning five that do not overlap is where spreadsheets and consumer map apps fall apart. StopHarbor assigns and orders every driver's stops in one calculation.
Three ways to divide the work
- Evenly: every driver gets about the same number of nearby stops.
- By percentage: a trainee takes 20 percent and a veteran takes 40.
- By ZIP code: drivers keep their territories; ZIPs on Auto go to whoever is closest.
Constraints that real teams have
Pin a stop to the only driver who can do it. Cap a driver at a number of stops. Give a driver a different start, finish or leave time. Add arrival windows to stops. When any of these are set, StopHarbor solves assignment and order together, and stops that genuinely cannot fit are reported with a reason.
Review before you send
Every route is drawn on one map in its own color. Filter to one driver, click a stop to see where it sits in the route, and check miles, drive time, time on site and estimated finish per driver. Print one sheet per driver or an overview of everyone.
Hand-off
Each driver gets a private link to only their route, with navigation, notes and done/skipped marks that sync back to the office. Office staff who build routes use the three signed-in seats on Team.
Common mistakes the planner avoids
Hand-built team routes usually go wrong in the same three ways: two drivers serve the same neighborhood from opposite directions, one driver gets every long job, or the last stop is far from where the driver ends the day. Solving assignment and order together, with each driver's start and finish, removes all three by design.
Questions
How many drivers can I plan together?
Up to ten route workers and 80 total stops per calculation on Team.
Do drivers need their own logins?
No. Drivers open private, expiring links. Signed-in seats are for the people who plan routes.
Does it balance by time or by stop count?
The even split balances stop counts by distance. When you add windows, stop limits or separate start addresses, assignment is solved together with time, and arrival estimates show each driver's finish.
