Directions links for a long list of stops, ready for a phone.

Google Maps on a phone takes only a few stops per trip, and long links break. Paste a start and your stops in order; this tool builds the shortest set of overlapping links that keeps every stop.

The interactive tool runs in your browser with no account and no map requests.

Why long Google Maps routes fail

Google Maps limits how many stops one set of directions can hold, and a directions link opened on a phone is stricter than the website: Google documents support for only three stops between the start and the destination in mobile browsers. Links longer than about two thousand characters can also be cut off. Typing twenty stops by hand works until the app quietly drops one.

How the links are built

Each link covers a short leg of your list, and each leg starts where the last one ended, so the driver taps Part 1, drives it, then taps Part 2. No stop is skipped and none is repeated except the hand-off point. If addresses are long, legs get shorter to stay under the URL limit. Apple Maps links use multi-stop directions on recent iPhones and one link per leg on older ones.

The order is yours

The tool keeps your stops in the order you paste them. It does not calculate the fastest order. For that, StopHarbor orders each worker's stops by typical drive time, splits the work across up to ten people and gives each one a private link with these same navigation buttons.

Sharing with a driver

  • Copy all links and paste them into a text or email to the driver.
  • Or open each part on your own phone and use Share.
  • Check the first and last address in each part before the driver leaves.

Questions

How many stops can I add?

Up to 80 stops plus a start. A long list simply becomes more parts.

Does this use live traffic?

The links open Google Maps or Apple Maps, which apply their own traffic when the driver starts navigation. This page does no routing itself.

Why does each part start with the previous part's last stop?

So the driver navigates from where they actually are. The overlap is one address, and it is not counted as a new visit.
